ACT 4.H: social media marketing ideas

Do:
- Have a presence on the internet and the social media
- Make sure your site is well structured and nice to look at
- Do what you promise, don't say you are the best when you're not
- Use pictures to illustrate what you do or what you can do
 
Don't :
- Make promises you can't keep
- Fill your social media platforms with hard selling
- Don't obligate people to do things, it has a reversed effect
- Take pictures from Google to use on your site
 
We learn from this that we have to keep our social media platforms up-to-date and use them. We can't sell our service on social media, because hard-selling will keep subscribers or followers away.

We choose Pinterest as our first social media platform, because it's a visual platform. It's easy to show people what we do by using pictures and videos.
Of course we son't want to use it as a hard selling tool, by only talking about our services/ product it's more likely to scare the followers. We would post pictures from all the things that a person with horses need to know.
Pinterest is good for attracting young customers, who only want the best for their horses. When they see your page with interesting stuff on you there is a big chance you will persuade them to have you as their farrier.

Our second social media platform is Twitter. Facebook is very mainstream so when your company is also present on twitter more people can see what you do and like or follow you. On Twitter you can create hashtags, if your hashtag is popular more people will look at your page and you will add followers. 
The main goal is to keep followers (and add them) by putting interesting information on our Social media Platform and not hard selling content.

Poor planning and timing can be deadly -> To keep your followers or visitors interested, you need to be active on the Social Media platforms. As a company you need to plan when you will work on your social media. If you don't do that people will lose intrest and you will lose customers. So we are going to plan 1 day a week to post stuff on our social media or to plan postings on our Social media. 

People are critical of bad products -> We are certain we have a good product/ service. That isn't an issue. Although some people find it amusing to put hate comments on your Social Media. We will respond to them in a calm and polite way, ask them what the problem was or why they're not happy and react to that. It's better to react to hate comments then to delete them, because that could create an even more negative reaction.
